IPL is a worldwide famous franchise of cricket, where many national and international players take part to earn fame and millions by playing and entertaining people. Moreover, its popularity is so big because it is a cash-rich game. IPL was introduced in 2008, and till now, 15 successful seasons have been held, in which it made multiple winners and introduced new talented teams with players.

The governing council announced the IPL’s latest season, which will be hosted in India. After two years of waiting, it is finally going to happen. The massive outbreak of Covid-19 made the last two seasons hosted in another international country.

Indian premier league includes eight teams to play, but now two new teams were introduced in the last season, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow SuperGiant. Moreover, in the last season, the trophy winner was Gujarat, which was a record that they held the trophy in their first season.

Here Are the Two Main Teams of the India Premier League

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchises of IPL, where it has taken five titles now. 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 under the captaincy of Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super kings are the second most famous and successful team, where it has won 4 titles, 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. This team became one of the most powerful under the captaincy of M. S. Dhoni, whose hard work and consistency made his team this much renowned

Ahead of the auction for the new media rights of the Indian Premier League, the board of (BBCI) Board of Control for Cricket has hinted that it is increasing the number of matches in the cash-rich league per season in the next cycle of the 2023-27 season.

As per indication, the number increases up to 410 gradually after every two years of IPL. It has been learned that the Indian cricket board scheduled 74 games in the first two years of 23-23, followed by 84 matches in the next couple of seasons.

In the fifth or final season of the cycle, it can be 94, as the BCCI has kept the option of 84 games in the next couple of seasons. Moreover, “the bidder for the media rights is believed to have been advised to go with the calculation of 410 matches and not 370,” said by cricbuzz.

If this plan gets implemented, then it would be exciting to look at how the BCCI / IPL will break down the number of the game for each team so that the desired numbers are added to it ideally. It is way more than in the case of 94 games, teams will play twice with each other. Moreover, the regular format followed by the four playoffs as of now, the league is divided into two virtual groups of teams, with each side of five playing against four others in its group and again twice with the remaining one.

If the playoff clashes are included up to 74, and if the case of 84, the formula could be playing twice against each side in one team’s own group and twice against two of the other group teams.

The further report stated that there is no ambiguity in the number of games for special, not an exclusive package © when the game goes up in the upcoming seasons.

Back then, it was reported that the special package would have the rights to 18 matches in a 74-game season, and it has been now learned that there will be 20 games in 84-game seasons and 22 games in the 94 seasons.

In total, the number of games in package C in five-year will be around 96, which includes the opening match of each season, four playoffs, and the night matches of double headers.
