  • Year 1997: Indian team during the independence cup against Pakistan wore a dark blue jersey with the BCCI logo from the left side to the middle.
  • Year 1998: Again there is a significant change in the jersey as the whole attire becomes blue with a tricolor around the shoulder
  • Year 1999: The year witnessed a few changes in the jersey like yellow stripes got outlined with a black color border. Also, there is a BCCI logo located on the left side of the jersey.
  • Year 2001: For the first time, the sponsor’s name is displayed on the jersey as Sahara imprints in the middle & sleeves of the jersey. The BCCI logo got shifted from the left to the right side, also three yellow stripes were located on the front sides of the shirt. 
  • Year 2003: The blue jersey got the tricolor painted in the middle from the bottom, and also a dark blue line on the sides. The Indian team wore the jersey at the world cup in 2023. 
  • Year 2007: For the world cup 2007, the Indian team get the striking tricolor stripe from the right side of the shirt
  • Year 2011: Jersey got half dark blue & another half part light blue, the tricolor stripes continue to both sides. Also, Sahara is the sponsor and got featured on the sleeves. 
  • Year 2015: For the world cup 2015, the jersey missed out on tricolor stripes and got the basic blue color throughout the shirt & pants. On the front side, there will be a mention of the team name & sponsor – Sahara. Another key change is the orange color linings across the pant’s pockets. 
  • Year 2019: For the ICC cricket world cup 2019, the Indian team wore the new jersey with dominating orange color with dark blue. 
  • Year 2020: With a new sponsor featured on the T-shirt Byjus, the Indian jersey got the royal blue color back in form. 
  • Year 2021: For the world cup 2021, the Indian team got a new shirt inspired by fans & called ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’, along with the new sponsor MPL Sports imprinted on it. Fan’s chants & cheers are placed in the form of sound waves drawn on the jersey. 
  • Year 2022: For the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, the BCCI unveils the jersey with azure blue shades and royal blue sleeves.
