IPL tournaments began in the year 2008 and it’s been 13 years now and so many controversies have come up in all these years.
Stating a few controversies below:
- There was a spot fixing case in IPL 2012 wherein an Indian news channel aired a sting operation accusing 5 players for spot fixing. After the news got flashed Rajiv Shukla, President Indian Premier League immediately suspended the 5 uncapped players, these players were

In the same year, Mumbai Police arrested Vindu Dara Singh and Gurunath Meiyappan, son in law of Chennai Super Kings owner and former President N Shrinivasan for betting activities and having connections with bookies.

The country wide probe was led by the central agency carrying out searches in Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Jodhpur.
The CBI named Dileep Kumar, based in Rohini, Delhi, and Gurram Vasu and Gurram Satish based in Hyderabad in its first FIR as accused while Sajjan Singh, Prabhu Lal Meena, Ram Avtar and Amit Kumar Sharma, all from Rajasthan.
