ICC Announces Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Schedule | CBTF Tips

On Monday, October 3, the International Cricket Council released the schedule for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2023, which will begin on February 10 in South Africa. India, one of the finalists from the previous competition, was placed in Group 2 with rivals Pakistan, England, the West Indies, and Ireland.

The ICC has released the calendar for the Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in South Africa in 2019. Following the qualifiers, Bangladesh and Ireland will complete the final two berths in the 10-team competition.

The opening match of the eighth ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, between hosts South Africa and Sri Lanka, will take place on February 10, 2023. The tournament matches will be played in Cape Town, Paarl, and Gqebera, with the knockout rounds taking place there.

The final will take place on February 26, 2023, with February 27 set aside as a backup day in case of significant play-related delays on the scheduled date.

Groups in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 – Women T20 Match Updates 

The 10 teams are divided into two groups. The group games will last through February 21, and each club will play the other four teams once. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals at the end of the group stage.

Groups A – Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh

Group B – Pakistan, Ireland, the West Indies, England, and India

India to Face Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2023 

According to the schedule released by the ICC on Monday, India Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 campaign will kick off against Pakistan Women on February 12 in Cape Town (October 3). India has been grouped with England, the West Indies, Pakistan, and qualifiers Ireland for the tournament in South Africa from February 10–26. Before facing England and Ireland on February 18 and 20, India will play its second game against the West Indies in Cape Town on February 15.

The opening game will be played in Cape Town between Sri Lanka and the hosts, South Africa. The final will take place on February 26, again in Cape Town, with a backup day scheduled for the following day in case of significant play disruptions on the scheduled date.

On February 12 in Cape Town, India’s 2023 women’s T20 World Cup campaign will get underway against bitter foe Pakistan. Group 2 includes England, the West Indies, Pakistan, and qualifiers Ireland and India. The competition will take place in South Africa from February 10 to February 26.
