Maharaja Trophy T20 is a T20 cricket tournament which was formerly known as Karnataka Premier League (KPL). The league was established by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in August 2009 which was inspired by the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MSince 2018, there have been 18 participating teams in the tournament. From the latest cricket updates, KPL is now known as the Maharaja Trophy T20. the Karnataka Cricket Association has tweaked the changes in the structure of the gameplay in this six-team tournament which will be continued in this format.

Format of Maharaja Trophy 

The matches in the Maharaja trophy are played in a round-robin format that has top 4 teams who would meet in the league to qualify for the playoffs. All these teams will come up against each other in Qualifier 1, Eliminator, and Qualifier 2, and lastly in the finals.
