This is an increase of ten teams from the 2020 T20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, reflecting the continued growth of the bilateral T20 International women’s cricket team.

Eight teams from Bhutan, Botswana, Cameroon, France, Malawi, Myanmar, the Philippines and Turkey are taking part in the ICC Women’s Tournament for the first time, a nod to the global growth of women’s cricket in emerging countries like Brazil return to the ICC women’s competition for the first time since 2012.

Five regions will host regional qualifier tournaments, where the top teams from each region will advance to the second-bottom teams in the T20I standings of the – Women’s bumps in 2021 – from teams that competed in the Australia 2020 event – through to the eight teams in the 2022 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers. The final position will be filled by the highest-ranked team in the regional qualifiers through November, the one Top spot loses regional tournament rankings.

The qualification path includes 115 international women’s T20 tournaments played at international events the. ch ICC events.

As well as more regular international women’s cricket, this also offers teams the opportunity to move up the MRF Tires ICC Women’s T20I T20I squads.
