Australia Wins T20 World Cup Final In Memorable Evening of New Records & Celebration

Mitchell Marsh and player-of-the-tournament David Warner both hit half-centuries as Australia won its first cricket T20 World Cup on Sunday by defeating New Zealand by an eight-wicket margin. Today women match took place in DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP).

New Zealand scored 172-4 but lost the crucial toss. Kane Williamson, the club’s skipper, scored 85 runs off 48 balls after being dropped at 21, but Josh Hazlewood, who finished with outstanding figures of 3-16 from four overs, held his team back.

Marsh scored an unbroken 77 off 50 balls, and Warner made 53 off 38 as Australia reached 173-2 in 18.5 overs. Marsh hit fast bowler Adam Milne for a six-over fine leg on the first ball he faced. The victory also made sure that Australia maintained its streak of knockout matches against the Black Caps without losing since 1981.

 ICC’s White-Ball World Cups

The fact that Australia is the first team to accomplish this makes Aaron Finch, the team’s captain, “incredibly proud of the lads’ campaign plan. After joining forces at 15-1, Marsh and Warner sparked Australia’s successful run-chase with a 92-run second-wicket stand. Marsh and Glenn Maxwell (28 not out) then contributed to another successful half-century partnership to lead Australia to victory. In a superb three-over power play effort earlier, Hazlewood secured the crucial wicket of in-form Daryl Mitchell (11) as the Black Caps sputtered to 57-1 by the midway point of their innings. But Mitchell Starc, the fast bowler who returned figures of 0-60 in the T20 World Cup final, cut loose against Williamson after Hazlewood dropped him at fine leg.

As well as smashing Starc for one of his three sixes, Williamson hammered seven of his ten boundaries against the left-arm fast bowler. In the 18th over, Hazlewood made a comeback, and Glenn Phillips (18) and Williamson were caught deep in the space of four balls.

In the semifinal game in Dubai, Australia defeated Pakistan by scoring 177 runs, and a drier surface made things simpler for players like Marsh and Warner. Despite Finch holing out at deep mid-wicket off a short delivery from Trent Boult, both batsmen controlled the New Zealand seamers on a dry track (2-18). Ish Sodhi failed to deliver on New Zealand’s hopes that he would strike in the middle overs as Marsh and Warner dominated the leg spinner, who gave up 40 from his three overs.

Boult came back and cleaned bowled Warner, but he had a stormy night when he failed to hold onto a return catch off his final ball of the stint, with Australia needing just 15 runs to win from 19 balls.

The 172 that New Zealand scored was the same number that it had successfully defended earlier this month against Scotland in a group game played at the exact location. Teams that batted second won the other 12 games in the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Williamson, whose team had eliminated England with a five-wicket victory in the semifinals, called Australia “a wonderful squad, had a brilliant campaign, and came out and turned it on.” “Thanks to Australia’s aggressive pursuit, they didn’t give us even a millimeter. It wasn’t meant to be today, but we should be pleased with how we conducted ourselves because there are only two options.

Eight-wicket Victory Over New Zealand

Australia won the inaugural T20 World Cup trophy with a dominant eight-wicket victory over New Zealand in the championship match, which Mitchell Marsh completely dominated with his scorching 77-run innings. Before their World Cup final match in Dubai, Australia’s captain Aaron Finch and New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson are greeted by Finch after Finch won the toss. When New Zealand was put in to bat, they labored mightily in the first ten overs, with Martin Guptill’s agonizing 28 off 35 balls dragging things down. Josh Hazlewood (3/16 in 4 overs) and Adam Zampa (1/24 in 4 overs) of Australia were the bowlers of choice. A technically proficient Test hitter can play any format with authority, as Williamson did during an evening when it counted the most. Williamson undoubtedly owned the opening half of the night. Williamson made a mockery of him with the class of test match batting, coupled with a dash of T20 flair when Starc came for his third over and the team’s 16th.

On Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips made a shot during the Cricket Twenty20 World Cup championship game between Australia and New Zealand. Australia and New Zealand were playing in the Cricket Twenty20 World Cup final on Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Australia’s David Warner hits a shot after removing his helmet.

It was one of those nights when Marsh, a player with tremendous potential who hasn’t quite lived up to his incredible talent, lit up Dubai’s skyline with some brutal stroke play, and Kane Williamson’s touch of class was cast in the background. A goal of 173 in a world championship final is never easy, but Marsh and David Warner (53 off 38 balls), who also turned the tables for themselves and their team during a triumph, reached in 18.5 overs, made it look like a walk in the park.

Wrapping Up

The ICC’s white-ball World Cups have never produced a champion for the New Zealanders. In the 2019 50-over World Cup final at Lord’s, New Zealand and England squared off. Either team has never won the trophy. Today women match was a tiebreaker, or “Super Over,” the final result could not be determined, which was an unprecedented tie. A boundary count determined that England should win the title.
