Punjab Kings Team IPL 2022
A cricket team from Punjab named Punjab Kings competes in the IPL and is situated in Mohali. The name Kings XI Punjab was used up until the 2020 season. The name and jersey were modified for the 2021 version.
KL Rahul, the PBKS squad captain, left to join another team after the 2021 season.
Mayank Agarwal, the PKBS team's newly hired captain, and pacer Arshdeep Singh were the only two players kept on by the team. The Kings have a completely new look for the upcoming season thanks to the addition of some of the top T20 players, including Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Jonny Bairstow. Punjab only made it to the IPL final once, in the 2014 season, and they'll be hoping to push the envelope with this PBKS team this year.
Despite participating in every IPL, Punjab Kings have only twice placed in the top three: in 2008 and 2014. They finished 2021 in sixth place for the third straight year.

Pbks IPL Team Team Information
Mayank Agarwal will supervise the PBKS squad instead of the departed KL Rahul, under the direction of Anil Kumble.
Agarwal averaged 40.09 last season, but Punjab Kings had a lot of trouble scoring runs consistently outside of him and Rahul. It definitely feels like a new era for Punjab Kings after only keeping two players before the auction.
PBKS Squad Changes
Arshdeep Singh, a 23-year-old left-arm fast bowler, and captain Mayank Agarwal were the only members of the 2021 team to stay.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka and Shikhar Dhawan of the Delhi Capitals have taken the places of Chris Gayle, Dawid Malan, and Aiden Markram in the batting order.
Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow, two recent English recruits, will be expected to contribute more than simply runs to the competition. The PBKS team's starting bowler will be Kagiso Rabada, who was acquired from Delhi Capitals.
PBKS Peam key Players
-
Captain Mayank Agarwal: The 31-year-old will captain the team as he attempts to complete three seasons in a row with 400+ IPL runs. In the previous season, he had a maximum score of 99 from 58 balls against the Delhi Capitals.
-
Shikhar Dhawan: No player has ever scored more fours than Dhawan's 654 in the IPL's history. He is a great addition for Punjab Kings and has scored 479 to 618 runs in each of the seasons from 2016 to 2021.
-
Liam Livingstone: With Rajasthan Royals last season, the English all-rounder got a taste of the IPL, but by the end of 2021, he was one of the most sought-after players in short-format cricket. He is now a dependable member of England's IT20 team and is regarded as one of cricket's most potent hitters.
-
Kagiso Rabada: With 55 wickets over the IPL seasons of 2019 and 2020, the South African pace bowler's output of only 15 wickets in 2021 was subpar. He will gain from a new beginning with Punjab Kings.
